Here are all the results from last week's Nick Wilkes Classic/Invitational.
Great work everyone!
Hello Coaches and AD's
Please be aware that the Fraser Valley Track and Field Championships will include events for the Para and Special Olympics athletes. The events that we will be offering are the 100m, 400m, and shot put. We do not know how many athletes we have in the region, so we are just going to straight finals for the 100m and the 400m.
They are highlighted on the schedule. Please make sure you inform the Special Ed teachers in your school or your district about this awesome opportunity on May 14, 15 and 17.
NB: You can find editable and PDF versions of the Championship Schedule here or on the Coaches Information Page.
Attn FV Coaches and Parents,
The FV Deadline for submitting your athletes for the FV Championships is May 9th 2018 by 10 pm PST . Please check the Performance list deadline by May 12th 2018 by 10 pm PST.
You can register your athletes at "TrackReg". For those who have used Trackie in the past, your password is the same one from last year.
If you have never registered with Trackie before, there is a tutorial video.
If you miss the deadline, you will have to email the meet registrar, Andrew Lenton. If you miss any errors on the performance list deadline, and you need to enter an athlete, your school will have to pay a minimum $25 dollar fine or a maximum fine of $250 late fee for entering that athlete or team. Do not expect me to register your athlete. We will refer you back to Andrew and Andrew will enforce the late fee.
Please note that if your athlete loses their bib number, then they will have to pay $5 for a new number. Athletes must wear their bib numbers for all their events.
If an athlete misses a day or two at the Zone Championships, as a coach, you cannot enter that athlete at the FV Championships in the event that they missed. Those spots are already filled by the athletes that have competed in that event that day. The only option for that athlete is to enter their best 2017 performance through the Open Zone process and wait and we see if they get into the BC Championships through that avenue. Already had questions on this so it is important that coaches explain this to their athletes prior to the Zone Championships.
The Open Zone is NOT used for putting forward a better result for an athlete. If an athlete is caught using the Open Zone process for entering in a better result than the one they received at their Zone Championships, that athlete runs the risk of having the Provincial Committee removing them from the meet. Please be aware.
Tomorrow is the Nick Wilkes Invitational. Please make sure that you have the stickers ready for your athletes and have registered your school on their website.
The schedule will be a rolling one so if an event is done early, then it will just continue with the next.
Please check this revised schedule and info packet.
Note sure if it was in the previous document but there is a $50 fee per school to help cover the costs of holding the meet. Please check the link for the update meet package.
